Cabernet Franc is the father of Cabernet Sauvignon, but is rarely bottled on its own. When built as a standalone wine, Cabernet Franc makes a powerful statement. Crafted by Jean Hoefliger using the same winemaking techniques, these three wines show the true diversity of terroir and the art of interpretation.

We live in an age where less and less time is spent at the dinner table discussing these different points of view. The Debate's mission is to bring people together to share a glass of wine to discuss and debate just as our team does. The Debate includes three perspectives of Napa Valley Cabernet Francs from three outstanding vineyards in Napa Valley: Sleeping Lady, Beckstoffer To Kalon and Stagecoach.

Sleeping Lady Vineyard Cabernet Franc

“The coolest and most elegant Cabernet Franc site of the bunch. The balance and acidity must be protected to make this site shine. We consider this wine as Fred Astaire because it is elegant and classy but shows humor and fun.”

95+ PTS – Wine Advocate

99 PTS – Jeb Dunnuck

Color: Deep, dark ruby with touches of red apple on the rim .

On the nose: Explosions of blackberries, violet, cigar box, plum, marzipan, paprika, bubblegum, hot stone, oregano, granite .

On the palate: Velvety entrance evolving on a concentrated mid-palate dense but fine tannin with touches of potpourri, cherry pit, black currant with touches of pepper and boysenberries .

Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard Cabernet Franc

“The most famous and uniform Cabernet Franc site of the bunch. Beckstoffer To Kalon consistently shows off wines with granular tannins and a full-bodied mouthfeel. We consider this wine as Robert Redford because it is as beautiful as it is rugged and as thoughtful as it is intriguing.”

98 PTS – Wine Advocate

99 PTS – Jeb Dunnuck

Color: Shiny, deep mahogany with touches of magenta on the rim .

On the nose: Beautiful, fruity nose of black currant, fresh cut roses, After Eight chocolate, cotton candy, granite, wild strawberry, rosemary and red pepper flakes .

On the palate: Concentrated entrance evolving on a fresh mid-palate lingering on dense, fine granular tannins with some boysenberry, oregano, dry fried basil, saffron .

Stagecoach Vineyard Cabernet Franc

“The highest altitude and most concentrated Cabernet Franc site of the bunch. Stagecoach Vineyard shows powerful wines with both density and acidity. We consider this wine as Chris Hemsworth because it is powerful, dense and sexy with a true sense of place.”

96+ PTS – Wine Advocate

95 PTS – Jeb Dunnuck

Color: Deep, dark black ink with touches of iris.

On the nose: Explosion of blueberry pie, rosemary, bay leaf, cinnamon, pipe tobacco, orange blossom, oregano, sugar candy, button mushrooms .
