The depth of the 2015 Aida Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is flush with concentrated black cherries, violets, cassis, and cocoa. Slate minerality and scorched earth, along with wafts of tapenade, lend weight to this full-bodied wine. Cedar and black pepper, paired with good acidity and freshness, help round out this tautly built Cabernet. This upper valley cabernet will offer a spectacular glass of wine for the next twenty plus years.

Our Aida Estate Vineyard has con¬firmed our initial belief that this site would be the ideal location for growing Bordeaux varietals. Just north of the pinch in the hourglass of the Napa Valley, the cabernet sauvignon grapes from our Aida Estate provide the bold, structured backbone for this immensely enjoyable wine.

Like the previous season, 2015 was a year of drought and water scarcity. A milder winter, with few days below freezing, led to another early bud break. The mild temperatures continued into the summer and finally ramped up towards the end of the season. In a year with such a sporadic growing season, irrigation practices were crucial. We harvested our lowest yielding crop in a decade, but the wines have phenomenal acidity and structure. While the valley experienced more growing challenges than in previous years, the wines are showing amazing complexity and have long aging potential.
